How to operate on Tradelink as a Custodian operator
A Custodian is responsible for providing final approval of all the requests raised that involve movement of funds (settlement, arbitration, withdrawal).
The Custodian operates as a referee in the network and provides final determination on requests raised by the Exchange and the Asset Manager.
Custodian Settlement Request Approval
- To approve a Settlement request in the Vault, the Custodian operator can navigate to the “Requests” section of their vault and approve any pending requests.
- For a Custodian API operator to approve the request, the standard approval request method described here will be used.
- The Custodian will also be able to reject these requests if they deem them not appropriate.
Custodian Withdrawal Request Approval
- To approve this request in the Vault, the Custodian operator can navigate to the “Requests” section of their vault and approve any pending requests.

Custodian Arbitration Request Creation
Custodians who are mediating an arbitration between an Exchange and an Asset Manager will have the power to create a transaction request that moves funds from the available balance of the Collateral account, to the relevant Whitelisted Exchange account. This request will also require approval.
